An international hub for technology and creativity, this unique waterfront destination offers a wealth of entertainment, leisure and cultural facilities. Media City is easily accessible from the City Centre via a short 20-minute tram ride.

With the lockdown rules easing after 17th May and bringing a new level of freedom for businesses to safely re-open, here are some of the key highlights of the area.

Officially re-opening for Summer on May 17th after a revamp by local artists, Box on the Docks is a unique outdoor drinks and dining experience. This quirky picnic area isn’t hard to spot with brightly decorated greenhouses scattered across the grass and available for private dining. Adding to the great summer vibe, the area also features an array of painted decking, benches, murals and even a flower wall - it truly is a must-see spectacle.

As well as looking the part, the venue benefits from having both Seven Brothers brewhouse and plant-based Vertigo as food and drink providers. Also launching will be their very own Dock’s Bar and Grill which will be serving the best pop-up foods from Salford and Manchester. So, get yourself down there!

With the return of indoor dining on May 17th, we can say hello to the floral, shabby chic interior of The Botanist who boast an extensive cocktail menu served with a creative flare! This venue also offers a varied food menu with plenty of tasty options, including ‘small plate’ dining.

 The Alchemist

Also opening for indoor dining with their famous molecular mixology, is The Alchemist. This lively chain offers a spectacular drinking and dining experience. The large windows mean that you can enjoy the panoramic views of the water without the, shall we say ‘worrying’, alfresco experience that we have all had some fun with this past month.
